One of the greatest things our government has done was to set aside a parcel of land for the enjoyment, appreciation and education of all people. People come from all over the United States and the world to see and enjoy this piece of land called Yellowstone. It seems like we are able to go back in time and see and feel things like our forefathers did in times of old. The scenic beauty, the thermal features, the volcanic mysteries, the free roaming wildlife are all a throw back to days gone forever except for this treasure named Yellowstone. The mysteries and wonders of Yellowstone are as alive today as they were in years gone by...
There seems to be a peace within this area that captivates visitors, a rustic beauty, a roughness of the old west as in the days when this land was roamed by Native Americans and mountain men. We are seeing it as they did. It captivates the heart and the mind and it thrills and inspires.
It is beyond description to be sitting on an isolated hillside and hear the howl of the wolves, the bugle and calls of the elk and the sandhill crane, and the other sights and sounds of wildlife and nature. As I sat on that hill, chills ran down my spine and I got goose bumps by being in this wild primitive land of Yellowstone and enjoying all that is there. It is part of you and you are part of it, and you want it to last forever.

We must always treasure this gem, to insure that it will always be what it has been to those gone before us and those coming after us. We must become aware of those things that may impact Yellowstone and our local areas. We can and will make a difference.
