Avoid Fishing Bridge unless you need hookups--it's like a crowded parking lot. Ugly. Avoid Grant, which might not be open then anyway--it's closed til mid July. Madison and Canyon are the best of the cgs you can make reservations at. Bridge Bay is nice up toward the north end, but otherwise as HVG states. Once you are in the park, you could possibly find a non-reserved cg spot, and I agree that you might try Slough (my favorite) or Pebble Creek to be close to wildlife viewing in the Lamar. Met a nice couple from Buckinghamshire last year and shared a drink with them at Lake Hotel, a venue I recommend: good food and a string quartet!! Dinner reservations required. Have a grand time--you will.
