We are planning a first trip to Yellowstone with teenagers for 2011. I want to stay in Old Faithful area and one other. (two days in each). I am debating between Lake and Canyon. We will stay in the Western Cabins regardless. Which area is nicer? The cabins on the internet look nicer in Lake but I was wondering if there was more hiking close by in Canyon. We are interested primarily in hiking and thermal activity--less in driving to see wild life.
